Riverford Veg & Table

A new magazine by Riverford 'Veg & Table' is going out in veg boxes nationwide this week. I enjoyed working on this project over the late summer, taking portraits of local farmers and documenting them working the land.

Despite the challenges of creating autumn in summer, I worked hard to convey the warmth and abundance of the coming season. Other images of mine have been woven through the magazine - tumbling apples, autumn leaves and nature details. The front cover was taken one dewy dawn, standing in the field kitchen garden. This is otherwise known as 'Penny's Polytunnel' and is described in the magazine as a 'cornucopia of unusual veg & herbs nestled in a meadow of wildflowers'.

Guy Singh-Watson

I photographed Riverford’s founder, Guy Singh-Watson at home for a feature about the influence of his mother’s home cooking; “Farming, food & cooking was somehow imbibed rather than taught: it was and still is, our lives.”

Riverford Farmers

My pictures of local farmers are featured in the 'I produce your food' section of the magazine, along with interviews by Emine Rushton.

It was brilliant to be out and about in the fields, meeting the faces behind the brand. Hopefully everyone will enjoy 'meeting' the farmers through the images that I have created.
